What to Look for at Next Month’s Markham Fair

The annual Markham Fair is back and this year it’s bigger than ever! The event that attracts over 80,000 Markham residents every year will return October 3rd-6th with a lineup that has something for everyone.

2019 marks the 175th anniversary of Canada’s largest four-day agricultural fair, making this year particularly unmissable for Markham residents.

With so much going on at the 2019 Markham Fair, here are just some of the unmissable events taking place:

Monster Truck Show

Markham Fair welcomes back the exhilarating Motorsports Mania Monster Truck Show for 2019. Sunday’s high-octane show will keep you on the edge of your seat as decked-out and fearsome monster trucks tear up the track.

If you want to get in on the action, you can hop aboard one of the monster trucks for a ride you won’t forget. You’ll be driven around the track experiencing first hand what it’s like to ride a monster truck.

Demolition Derby

There’s even more exciting entertainment on Saturday night with the return of the thrilling demolition derby. This contest of skilled drivers ramming old cars into one another until one car remains is a fan favorite that attracts the big crowds.

The victor will walk away with a minimum of $1,000 prize but the more participants, the higher the payout. Interested persons can apply to the derby here.

RCMP Musical Ride

Fair visitors are encouraged to make time to see the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride. This show is a world-renowned troop of 32 horses and riders that performs drills choreographed to music – one that displays the utmost control and coordination.

Daily happenings at Markham Fair

Along with the larger attractions, there are plenty of other daily happenings on the showground to keep visitors entertained.

The largest traveling carnival in Ontario, ‘World’s Finest Shows’ will bring more than 40 spectacular, family and children’s rides to the fair. There’s everything from Our Cannonball and Fireball for thrill-seekers to the Ferris Wheel and SCrambler for families.

Elsewhere, Old MacDonald’s Farm is a great attraction for the little ones as it allows them to get up close with farmyard animals. Your children will be able to experience farm life with sheep shearing, cow milking as well as horses and pigs.

There will also be live music, food vendors, wine and beer tents, pony rides and so much more. The full list of attractions can be found here.

Markham hosts numerous events such as Markham Fair and the strong community feel is just one of the reasons why the Markham real estate market is incredibly lucrative.
